About Ralph Duren

Raised in Missouri and educated at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Ralph Duren started with the Missouri Department of Conservation around 1979 as a Wildlife Damage Control Agent. He was promoted to Outdoor and then Hunter Skills Specialist, co -authored the Turkey Hunter Education Manual and Trapper Educational Manual, wrote articles in Missouri Conservationist magazine, and still has a quarterly column in Show-Me Gobbler. He co-wrote the movie It's Your Choice, for use in Hunter Education classes. His current position with the MDC is Public Relations Specialist in the Public Affairs Division.

In recognition of his unusual vocal skills, Ralph has won numerous turkey-calling and owl-hooting trophies, including 3rd place in the 1994 and 1996 Grand National Gobbling Contest and 1st Place in the 1996 and 2nd Place in the 1997 National Gobbling Contest.
