The Lake of the Ozarks –
Where Business Is a Pleasure
Offering 350,000 square feet of professional meeting space, the Lake of the Ozarks is an ideal destination for meetings and conventions. Each year, the Lake hosts numerous national and regional corporate conventions, state and regional association meetings, as well as state education and government conferences. The Lake's central location – in the state and nation – makes it an easy place to reach. Several air carriers provide charter airline service on jets as large as commercial 727's, direct to the Lee C. Fine Airport at Lake of the Ozarks State Park.
The Lake area features a wide selection of lodging accommodations and business meeting facilities. Area resorts feature first-class group meeting, banquet and convention facilities ranging from small conference rooms to spacious meeting and convention rooms and exhibit halls, which can accommodate groups of up to 3,000 participants.
Meeting planners can assist groups in coordinating their meetings and organizing group recreational and entertainment activities. Area resorts that have meeting and convention facilities include The Lodge of Four Seasons, Tan-Tar-A Resort, The Resort at Port Arrowhead, Country Club Hotel & Spa, Inn at Grand Glaize, Millstone Lodge, Old Kinderhook and Kirkwood Lodge. Numerous family resorts also offer meeting space for smaller groups and provide a more casual atmosphere for small group meetings, retreats, conferences, reunions and golf outings.
With more than 100 restaurants, nearly one third of which overlook the Lake , the Lake of the Ozarks offers visitors a wide range of casual and fine dining options. In addition, convention and meeting attendees can enjoy uniquely themed parties, and have the choice of catered meals served both indoors and outdoors.
The Lake offers a wide variety of recreational activities for meeting attendees as well, including golf, boating, lake cruises, horseback riding, trap shooting, sporting clays, tennis and racquetball. Convention participants and family members can also enjoy other diverse attractions such as outstanding shopping, live entertainment and fun festivals held throughout the year. Additional activities include miniature golf, go-carting, fishing, waterskiing, or hiking in two popular state parks. |
