
October 15, 2011 - Camdenton Memorial Airport
The Camdenton B-25J Fly In will be held Saturday, October 15th at the Camdenton Municipal Airport in Camdenton, MO. The fly in will feature a restored B-25J Mitchell Bomber. The B-25 was the most versatile aircraft of WWII and is most distinguished as the aircraft that led the historic air raids over Tokyo in 1942. The restored B-25 will be making several flights during the Camdenton Fly In.
In addition to the B-25, the restored AC-47 "Spooky" gunship flown during the Vietnam War by Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. John L. Levitow will be on display. John Lee Levitow, an AC-47 gunship loadmaster, became the lowest ranking Airman ever to receive the Medal of Honor for exceptional heroism during wartime.
Along with the B-25 and "Spooky", there will be airshow acts by Team Vortex Airshow pilots Brian Correll & Patrick Carter, several static displays of planes and helicopters, autos, motorcycles and emergency equipment. From 8 am to 10 am a Chris Cakes breakfast will be served by the Young Eagles and lunch will be served by the Mid-County Fire Protection District, helicopter and plane rides will be available, a Ping Pong Ball Drop for the kids to win prizes including a chance at Big Surf Tickets, and there will also be a raffle for a chance to win a ride on the B-25J Mitchell Bomber.
The Camdenton B-25 Fly In will run from 8 am to 5 pm. Admission & Parking are free!
